This eight-kilometre jog across Cornes and Soirons will be complicated by the fickle weather of the past few days. Difficult enough conditions for some participants to rename this jog as “trail”.

During this race, a group of three separated from the rest of the peloton, with Stefan Koninks leading the way, and it was soon apparent that he had kept his pursuers at a considerable distance. It was in the last two kilometers that Julian Klassen, who finished second in the race, decided to accelerate. He got back to Stephane 50 meters from the line and won by inches after an incredible sprint. He therefore dethroned the challenger leader. Manu Ordonez had just finished on the podium.
