Samsung’s 200MP Isocell sensors are ready to debut. And if Motorola with the X30 Pro was supposed to be the first ever to introduce it to the general public, Xiaomi would immediately be in line to bring this sensor to the next Xiaomi 12T.
According to SamMobile, the Chinese manufacturer has opted for ISOCELL HP3, another 200MP sensor Samsung unveiled it recentlymore compact, but less efficient.
In detail, this solution will provide the same definition, but on smaller pixels. that it 1/1.4 inch sensor for 2.24 µm photodiodes after pixel binning. This is 20% and 12% lower, respectively, than Isocell HP1.
It is curious to know that competing manufacturers claim technologies developed by Samsung. In fact, according to rumors, the Korean company is not expected to pack its 200MP sensors before the release of the Galaxy S23 Ultra early next year. Mobile imaging is, in fact, an important business for Samsung which, according to the latest Strategic Analytics report, amounts to 26% of the market share dominated by Sony (45%).
Xiaomi, for its part, is as free to source supplies from one supplier as from another. A few days ago, the announcement of the Xiaomi 12S Ultra prompted us to discover the Sony IMX989: the smartphone’s new 1-inch image sensor.
