Spider-Man is one of the most popular heroes of recent years. In the 2000s, he was entitled to an entire trilogy directed by Sam Raimi. Spider-Man is played by Tobey Maguire.
Five years later, Sam Raimi’s trilogy has been rebooted. And instead of Tobey Maguire, we saw Andrew Garfield as Spider-Man. The latter, of course, passed a casting to become the new Spider-Man. And in front of him stood quite a few celebrities.
Other actors who have claimed the role of Peter Parker include Josh Hutcherson and Joe Jonas.
A big disappointment for Joe Jonas
Joe Jonas is one of those Disney stars who turned the heads of teenage girls upside down. After starring in the Jonas series, he embodied celebrity in the Camp Rock movies. When his Disney stint was over, Joe Jonas focused on his music career.
However, that didn’t stop him from doing small castings here and there. In an interview with Just For Variety, Joe Jonas revealed that he auditioned for the role of Peter Parker in the reboot of the Spider-Man franchise. He lost the role to Andrew Garfield. And that was a big disappointment for him.
“He Was the Good One”
“Right now you feel destroyed or defeated. But you realize that person was brilliant. I remember auditioning for the role of Spider-Man years ago and I was really, really excited and that was the year Andrew Garfield was cast. Of course he was the good one. »
Despite this failure, Joe Jonas was not defeated. The actor said he still loves auditioning so much. And speaking of auditions, he landed a role in the war movie Devotion, which tells the story of US Navy pilots.
Inspired by a true story, this film directed by JD Dillard also features the score by Jonathan Majors and Glen Powell. Devotion was released in the United States on November 23.
