Drako Dragon, that’s its name, won’t arrive until 2026, but its tech sheet is already chilling with amazing performance on all levels.
Another incredible electric car but without a future? Only time will tell, but it is clear that the model presented by Drako, the Dragon, is already making a very strong impression given the numbers announced.
Let’s say that this model, however, has a much better chance of success than the many electric cars presented a few years ago from obscure manufacturers that, today, really don’t make any news. Drako Dragon is supposed to arrive in the year 2026 and has electric hypercars like the Rimac Nevera or the futuristic Tesla Roadster in its sights.
Numbers that make you dizzy
The spec sheet is impressive. This model is twice as powerful as the most powerful Lotus Eletre or Tesla Model X Plaid. with no less than 2000 hp Under the hood, this 2.2-ton SUV can go from 0 to 100 km/h 1.9 secondsCover the distance from 0 to 400 meters standing in just 9 seconds and reach a top speed of over 320 km / h.
The power is absolutely incredible, the recharge power too. Dragon can accept Charging power up to 500 kW And pass like this From 10 to 80% in 10 minutes. This gives it 540 km of autonomy in the space of this time period, since the US EPA certification course (more stringent than the European WLTP) declares that this model can travel up to 676 km with a load.
Currently in Europe, the world’s fastest charging station open to the public provides a maximum power of 400 kW. By 2026, things will undoubtedly change. Nio, for example, is implementing charging stations that allow, specifically, up to 500 kW recharges.
New “inside” platform
Above, we told you that this model was more likely to succeed than others. This is indeed the case, since the Dragon is based on the powertrain of the Drako GTE (a model derived from the Fisker Karma and designed in 25 versions), a 1,200-horsepower electric sedan with four electric motors.
Drako DriveOS technology platform is based on a kind of “supercomputer” which manages all the characteristics of the vehicle. This is developed by the startup itself. From infotainment and navigation to battery management and driving aids, everything is processed in nanoseconds.
Ready for the family ride
The dragon is 5.05 meters long, 2.05 meters wide and 1.60 meters high. Ground clearance varies from 16 to 31 cm, depending on the driving mode. In addition to the LED lights, the Dragon has additional roof-mounted optics to improve visibility in difficult driving conditions. To reduce weight and carbon footprint, many body parts are made from natural fibers and recycled plastic.
Inside we find many elements in leather and carbon fibre. on the dashboard, Drako has integrated a massive 17.1 inch screen Through which information, entertainment and all driving modes can be managed. In front of the driver is a digital instrument cluster with configurable graphics, while in the cockpit some of the actual controls (turn signals, wipers, lights, etc.) are on the steering wheel, somewhat like a Ferrari.
Are we ready to see Draco’s dragon arrive on our roads? The answer is no, because the model won’t arrive before 2026. It will be manufactured in the US, and annual production seems ambitious, with Draco announcing that 5,000 units will leave the factory each year. If you are enthusiastic, patient and rich enough, Drako has already opened the pre-order stage. The price isn’t final, but Drako has indicated that it should be close 280 thousand euros.
