The story takes place in the early 1800s an English adventurer, James Keziah Delanay, Returning from Africa after long believed dead. The reception is not as expected as her father died under mysterious circumstances. Left alone, James finds in his hands a considerable legacy to manage, including Nootka Bay, a strategic territory because it would offer the opportunity to trade with the East by crossing the Pacific Ocean. The area is coveted by the English Crown and the British East India Company, who are determined to get their hands on the territory. James will have to try to counter them with every means at his disposal.
Two episodes of air tonight taboo on Sky Atlantic; two a week. In the first, James Delaney, long thought to have died in Africa, returns to his native London in 1814 after an absence of ten years to attend his father’s funeral and inherit a piece of land. In the second case, Delaney’s return to London has unleashed the opportunists who want something from him, but he also finds allies in his quest for justice.
