The Epic Games Store has a very attractive initiative up its sleeve for Black Friday: The free game of the week is Star Wars: Squadrons, the first-person aerospace dogfighting simulator developed by Motive Studios and released relatively recently – just over two years ago. The game allows you to control the most famous planes in the universe invented by George Lucas, including X-Wing, TIE Fighter and many others that are part of the historical period in which the game is set (after Episode VI and Rogue Squadron).
The game is based on the Frostbite Engine v3 developed by DICE, which like Motive is one of many studios controlled by Electronic Arts, the game’s publisher. As usual with Epic promotions, Star Wars: Squadrons can be claimed from today until next Thursday, and of course it will stay in the library forever. It’s worth mentioning the game is primarily designed for a team multiplayer perspective – and in virtual reality there is its maximum: There is a single-player campaign, but its main purpose is to learn how to fly the various aircraft, including a narrative system that alternately explores both the Empire’s and the Rebel’s point of view.
PC requirements are relatively reasonable:
- Minimum: Intel Core i5-6600K or AMD Ryzen 3 1300X
- Recommended: Intel Core i7-7700 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700X
- graphic card

Squadrons hasn’t received many expansions over time: EA has confirmed that they don’t want to treat it as a live service. The multiplayer sector works in Seasons, but mostly means leaderboards and scores will be reset. To redeem, simply follow the SOURCE link below.
