Joey Batey (Jaskier) could very well appear in the prequel

In 2019, Geralt de Riv took his first steps on Netflix as Henry Cavill in The Witcher series. This character based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s literary epic quickly won the hearts of the platform’s subscribers. Thanks to the famous Witcher magic, the Witcher has already had two seasons. A third will be released soon.

In July 2020, Netflix announced that The Witcher universe will expand. In fact, the streaming giant has announced that it’s working on a prequel titled The Witcher Blood Origin. This new series, which is part of the universe created by Andrzej Sapkowski, will be released on Netflix on December 25th.

And as its release nears, The Witcher Blood Origin reveals itself more and more.

Post teases the return of dandelions

Rumors about The Witcher Blood Origin, that’s not what’s missing. According to some of them, Jaskier could appear in the prequel. As a reminder, this character played by Joey Batey is Geralt de Riv’s best friend.

Recently, a tweet posted by Lenny Henry caught the attention of The Witcher fans. This actor who will star in the previous film shared a photo that seems to confirm the rumors regarding Dandelion. In the photo in question, we can see him smiling alongside Joey Batty.

What about Jasker’s return?

In his post, Lenny Henry said he was attending a press conference for The Witcher Blood Origin with Joey Batty. This was enough to spark rumors about Gasquiere’s return in the prequel.

It certainly isn’t The Witcher fans who will object to Jaskier appearing in this new series. It should be noted that the latter quickly became one of their favorite characters. However, questions are being raised about how the showrunners will orchestrate Dandelion’s return. Note that The Witcher Blood Origin will take place a little more than 1,000 years before the original series.

According to the most popular theory circulating on the subject, Jaskier could be the narrator of the prologue. But this remains to be verified.
