Google recently released the public beta of the new version of Android Auto, which introduced the expected user interface, codenamed “Coolwalk”.
The app’s massive redesign is currently being tested for users enrolled in the Android Auto beta program, and today the Mountain View giant released a new version.
Google releases Android Auto 8.6 beta
Apparently the new Android Auto beta doesn’t bring any visible changes, so it’s likely that it’s an update that brings various bug fixes and general improvements to the system, which is always welcome.
Anyone who has applied for access to the Android Auto beta program can try the new Coolwalk interface. At the moment registrations are closed as the maximum number of participants admitted has been reached, but it is always possible that the situation changes and therefore some places become vacant. Alternatively, you can try to manually download and install the APK file of the app available on APKMirror.
Recently, the unsettled weather icon returned to Android Auto but sadly disappeared from Coolwalk.
