Although its existence may seem uncertain, Google’s foldable smartphone is taking shape with each passing day, and recently the trade name was leaked “Google Pixel Notepad“.
A high price but lower than the competition
It is the 9To5Google site that, thanks to various sources, was able to obtain an estimate of the device’s retail price. For this project, Google would like a Selling price around $1,400, which is $500 more than the Google Pixel 6 Pro, the company’s most expensive smartphone at the moment. It would be $500 less than the suggested retail price of Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 3 in the US.
In Italy the price of NotePad could be around 1400 euros. However, it must be noted that Google does not always invest enough in its production lines to distribute its devices worldwide. 9To5Google points out on this point that there should be a delay between launching in the US and the rest of the world.
Start at the end of the year
According to the site, Google is also working to release this model by the end of 2022. It would take the Google Pixel 6’s Google Tensor chip and offer a design closer to the recently reviewed Oppo Find N. So it would have a wider and lower format than Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold. The product should fit Android 12L which is currently in beta.
We hope to hear more in the coming weeks or months. Maybe at the next Google IO?
